Primary standards and first-party receiver documentation are preferred over summaries. When a protocol changes, the site should cite the current RFC rather than repeat an obsolete number from old articles. In particular, the 2026 DMARC specification set replaces reliance on RFC 7489 as the current protocol reference.

If a source contradicts a field note, the source wins. Corrections should change the article body, update its date, and avoid silently retaining obsolete guidance in downloadable resources.

Commercial policy
